Baturaden
is well known area for tourism in Central Java, Indonesia. Until 2006,
Baturaden is the only tourism area in Banyumas regency, one of
regencies in Central Java province. With the position as the lonely
tourism object in the area, and the increasing of visitors, some people
thought to create another, a supporting tourism object. Based on that
background, idea to make a tourism village was rised. A tourism village
must have the uniqueness, which differ one to others, and Ketenger
village has the criterion. Ketenger village has many aspects of
uniqueness. Their society, nature, traditions, until unique foods are
special. This village also has enough supporting facilities for the
tourism purpose..

Ketenger village has some interesting places
to visit. The waterfalls (the local say
waterfall as "curug") and the hills are main locations for discovering.
These places are
still pure, also offered beautiful scenic. Another is location of
electricity generator
working by water energy, which offers comfortable area to enjoy.

b. Historical Interests |

Beside
of the nature, Ketenger village has some historical sites to
visit. Here they are.
- Lori railway track
This is the old railway track inherited by the Dutch. Lori is a special
train for transporting sugarcane. This railway track was built when
Indonesia was colonized by Holland.
- Old Japanese reservoir
This old reservoir is built by Japanese when they were colonizing the
area. Now, this building become an interesting place to visit.

As a tourism village,
Ketenger is equipped by good enough supporting facilities. There are
telecomunication networks, and adequate roads. The buildings for
worship are also provided. In Ketenger village, you can find mosque and
church, and the buildings can be used for worship. Beside that,
Ketenger village is equipped by the camping area. Cendana hill and
curug Gede are applicable for this purpose.
