Profile
 
Dieng is one of regions in Central Java province. Because of the beautiful nature and unique traditions of the local community, Dieng was announced as one of tourism villages in Central Java province. The word Dieng came from sansekerta language; "Di" and "Hyang". Di means high land, or mountain, and Hyang means heaven. By combining both words, we can conclude that Dieng means mountains ground, the home of Gods and Goddess..

a Natural Interests
 
Tambi
This location lies on slope of mountain Sindoro, position in 1200 until 2000 meters on sea surface. Temperature in this area is about 15 degrees until 24 degrees Celcius. This tourism object is maintained by PT Tambi, which has three units of tea garden. This location is equipped with some home stays, fishing area, tennis court, park, and tea gardens.

Serayu River Rapid Flow Challenge
This special interest explore the 12 kilometers rapid flow of Serayu river, from Tungguro village until Singomerto village. This location is excelent location for everyone who loves water sport. Accommodations and souvenirs shop are available in villages around area.

The Crater of Si Kendang
This area is located on the side of Telaga Warna (Colour Lake) and this crater produces an unique sound, which Javanese called it Kendang.

The Crater of Sikidang
This active crater is most visited by tourists, and its boiling lava and water can be seen by its lips. The gray coloured lava and water often move into another position and sometimes jump like an antelope (kidang).

Mrica
Mrica is tourism water object, exploiting reservoir of The Great General Sudirman. This reservoir is believed as the biggest reservoir in South East Asia. Facilities provided in this area are boat for traveling the area, fishing area, playing ground for children.

Wild Animals Recreation Park of Serulingmas
Serulingmas has swimming pool facilities, entertainment stage, playing ground for children and of course, animal and botanical park.

Lake Menjer
Menjer is a biggest lake in Wonosobo regency, Central Java province. This lake is located on 1300 meters above sea surface. The depth of this lake is about 45 meters.

Tuk Bimolukar
Tuk Bimolukar is a water fountain with its water shower made by ancient stones. According the local tale, name Bimolukar is came from place where Bima Sena (one of wayang story character) taken off his clothes for purifying.

b. Historical Interests
 
The Group of Arjuna Temples
The group consist of Arjuna temple, Semar temple, Srikandi temple, Puntadewa temple,
and Sembadra temple. These temple is predicted not built together. The temples
is used to be a worship area.

c. Cultural Interests
 
Ngruwat Rambut Gembel (Squalid Hair Ritual)
This ritual is a tradition lived in Kejajar district, positioned about 17 kilometers northern of Wonosobo capital regency. In this region, many children have squalid hairs (the local say "rambut gembel"), and according to local tale, these squalid hairs are given by someone called Kyai Kolodete. Locals say that rambut gembel is a disaster, so a ritual for rambut gembel must be held. This ritual then named of Ngruwat Rambut Gembel. This ritual must be requested by the kid to their parents. If not, although the hair has been shaved in this ritual, gembel would be back again.

Nyadran Suran of Pagerejo Villagers
This ritual almost the same as the one in Gianti sub-village. It is also held every Asyuro (Javanese month) 1st. In this ritual, Pagarejo villagers do bathing ceremony in Surodilogo spring, Kertek district.

Nyadran Suran of Gianti sub-Villagers
This ritual is anniversary ceremony for Gianti sub-village, a part of Kadipaten village, Selomerto district. It is often then followed by a ritual called Merdi Dusun combined with Tenongan ceremony. After the activities, then an art performance is held on the night until day changing to next. This sub-village (locals say dusun) is known as tourism sub-village located in Wonosobo regency.

d. Souvenirs Shops - Ceramics Center in Klampok
 
In this ceramics center, tourists can watch and buy a lot of ceramics with different creations and prices. The unique motifs of Klampok ceramics make attraction to foreigneirs. There are various forms of ceramics such as elephant, ashtray, table, chair, and others. These Kalmpok ceramics have been marketed to doemstic and abroad. The tourists can directly watch the production process of ceramics if they want to.

Dieng Plateau Theatre
In Dieng, there is Dieng Plateau Theatre, a place for interpretation activity of potential nature and culture in this region. This place was built based on idea from H. Mardiyanto, Central Java province governor that time. He hoped, this place can be a more attracted object and becoming a second main tourism object after Borobudur temple in this province. DPT (Dieng Plateau Theatre) is equipped with good tools for audio and visual performances. DPT has 100 chairs for audiences. This facility was designed for education medium and a medium to introduce potential tourism in this area.
DPT is located on slope of Sikendil hill, region of Dieng village, Kejajar district, Wonosobo regency. Around this area, are Telaga Alam Telaga Warna Park, Telaga Pengilon, Jaran cave, Sumur cave, and Semar cave.

For uniqueness of locals daily activities, the tourists can use some accommodations in this area. The local community provide some home stays to use by the tourists. The cost for one night room is 100,000 rupiahs, and for one night full home is 350,000 rupiahs. Below are home stays in this region.
